Isabella's story...

Ok, so here's the funny story on Isabella's birth...

So as most of you visitors here know, hubby is a tour bus driver... well, lets just say he has now taken it to the extreme!

So March 10th came and hubby had to work early in the morning so off he went at 4:30 am... when he returned he started cleaning up the house as it was G's sister and brother-in-law's 28th wedding anniversary so they were going to come here for a visit and then we planned to all go out for supper... well they called and said they had car trouble and couldn't come. I too had gotten up a little earlier than usual (8:30 am but remember, I haven't been sleeping hardly at all at night so my wake up time is usually 10am.) Anyways, I got up at 8:30 because I wanted to make some cookies before they got here. In the meantime, hubby got home and went into what I now call "nesting mode" because once he started cleaning, it got serious! He broke out the bleach and cleaners and literally started cleaning the house from top to bottom! So the family couldn't come, so we decided that afternoon we'd go for a walk and pay a visit to a lady and her son that we know here and try to get me outta the house and walking more as my feet had started swelling this past week. Well, we did a LONNNNNNNG walk! I was pooped when we got home! We had supper and crawled into bed to relax and watch a movie. Also hubby had to work early again (6 am) the next morning... so we stayed up, watched a movie and around 11 pm G tried to go to sleep. I of course wasn't ready to doze off so I sat up and watched TV. Well, Isabella being the "11:30 Girl" that she is (11:30 at night on the clock she'd always start kicking me), decided that my water should break... right at 11:30 pm of course! It totally shocked me as I felt no contractions or anything wierd... and I knew I didn't wet the bed. (tee hee). I woke up hubby (of course he thought I was waking him for something dumb) and he called the hospital to see if they thought in fact it was my water and to let them know we'd be coming.

Now remember, hubby worked this morning and had to work again early the next morning... well, he left the car at the garage where he works and brought the bus home with him... that's right everyone! He took me to emergency in the tour bus! I was paranoid about leaking all over one of the seats as I was constantly leaking water! Well, we pulled up and G got some people from the hospital to wheel me in while he parked the bus somewhere. When he arrived upstairs the nurses and the obstetrician on duty were joking about how they were wondering what kind of emergency they were going to have on their hands with a bus coming in. They wheeled me in, hooked me upto some monitors and waited to see what we were going to do. Finally my contractions started shortly after and about 7 minutes apart at that. Then they wheeled me into a private room to wait for the delivery to progress... of course I hadn't gotten any sleep so by 3 hours or so before Isabella was born, I was cooked! I could barely keep my eyes open, I had bad back labour, I couldn't even imagine falling asleep! But no epidural! I did at one point ask hubby for it as my back was killing me but I was already 7cm and they said it would only prolong the delivery more.

So finally it was time to start pushing, then they wheeled me upstairs to the delivery room where Isabella Grace joined us at 11:50 am... almost 11:30! Sorry Isabella, mommy didn't push soon enough but almost! Anyways, she's still our 11:30 girl, cute as can be weighing an even 3kg and 49 cm long. We stayed in hospital for 3 days and came home on the 14th.

So that's her story...cute hey?

She's arrived.... and early to boot!

So this is just a quick post.... yep, our little GIRL has arrived! About 2 1/2 weeks early too! There's quite a story to go with her arrival to but I'll have to post it later as you can tell I literally have my hands full (I'm holding her and typing) right now.

Anyways, here's a peek at her...

Grocery Shopping in Style!

Well, my friends always said I was more of a shopping/style finatic than them but this was SO FUN for me!

Hubby had a job the other day where he had to be a personal driver for someone so.... the night before he brought home the vehicle he had to use for the next day... of course I needed to do some grocery shopping so this is what he picked me up in...

Yep! A Porche Cayenne! Grocery shopping in style! This was a gorgeous vehicle... did you now it even lifts and lowers depending on what kind of terrain you are on... if you are off roading, set it higher or if you want to cruise the Autobaun, set it to lower.... so cool!

I told hubby he had to convince his boss to lend it to us for my last month as it is way easier getting in and out of than our car! HAHA!

Did we get to keep it? Yeah right, we're back in the Mondeo... but I can say we've driven in a Porche!
2 Days at the sea.... and someone stole my dainty ankles!

So hubby had 2 days in a row where he had to go near Alassio along the northwest coast of Italy... well, hubby thought he'd take me. YAY! The first day was great since he just had to bring people back to Piacenza, we could head out early and spend some free time there. Well, the weather wasn't as nice as we hoped it would be but it was still warmer than back home.
I told hubby I wanted to take a pict like one I found on the internet... it's the one in this post. The colour isn't too strong because of the lighting that day but it's still a nice pict for baby's collection.

The second day we went to the sea, we had to leave super early to pick up the tour and the bus was FULL!!! Every seat was occupied including the guide seat at the front! G is lucky there was room for me! It was a group of people from the same church so of course, there were a lot of older ladies gushing over my belly and asking us when we were due, etc. So sweet!
Well, it was a full day, especially since on our way there we ran into a car accident that blocked the highway COMPLETELY for quite sometime. We literally sat for a good 45 min. to an hour... traffic was blocked for miles, you should have seen it! So the people missed out on church mass at the sea where they planned to go. Oh well.

Then we headed for lunch, it was really good, of course, hubby had to order something special for me as everyone was eating fish... (I'm not so much a fan, esp since this pregnancy!) Then off to Loano for the rest of the afternoon. Here everyone had a couple of hours of free time. We ran into some of the ladies... indulging in gelato! Yum Yum!
G and I went to sit on the beach for a while but for this pregnant woman, my poor butt just got sore... but we stayed long enough for G to wet his feet and have a nap on the beach. On our way back to get the bus we ran into the same ladies... indulging in gelato once again but from a different shop... and why not I say, you only live once! HAHA!

Well, of course this is a Sunday and every Italian in a 2 hour radius AND their dogs come to the sea for the weekend, so what usually takes 3 hours to get home took more than 5! Yep, stuck in traffic AGAIN! Basically sitting on the highway watching a long line of little red tail lights for a good hour. Thank goodness I used the bathroom before we left!

Anyways, after we got through the traffic jam, we finally stopped at a gas station so everyone could use the bathroom (YAY!) and get a bite to eat or drink. I told G I figured it be beter if I sit in the guide seat at the front as my ankles felt like they had elastics around them... ah! The swelling begins.... yep, we got home around 10:30 p.m. and holy! Someone stole my dainty ankles and left me with tree trunks!!! ACK!!!!! Out came my extra pillow whom we lovingly call Phil and my hot water bottle filled with cold water... I tried to sleep with my feet up as best I could for the night. This morning the swelling was down enough but not completely.... a good ice water foot soak should feel good...

Well, that was our weekend. Hope yours was good!
